BONUS WEEK, LEG 2 // TOUR PELO BRASIL // THURSDAY NIGHT FLIGHT CLUB

LEG 2: SBGR to SBRJ This is the Thursday Night Flight Club Pilot Briefing for our first Bonus Week of the year, BONUS WEEK #1: Tour Pelo Brasil. "Bonus Weeks" are designed to break a bit of the domestic monotony of flying in the United States each week. There are six Bonus Weeks throughout 2025. This week, the first leg of our two-leg flight will originate at Foz Do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI). Iguazu Falls begin with views of the metropolis, before reaching the green of lush forest. As pilots depart at the Falls' airport on the Brazilian side—Foz do Iguaçu/Cataratas International Airport, they will have a view straight down to Itaipu Dam, the second largest such hydroelectric facility in the world, before spotting the column of mist above Iguazu Falls itself. After a spectacular departure, the pilots will make their way to Aeroporto Internacional de Guarulhos (SBGR), named one of the most spectacular airports in South America by Conde Nast. After the deplaning, boarding and refueling, our crew will then fly from to the infamous Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport. A well-known stop, this airport boasts a short runway, spectacular approach, scores of stunning mountain and ocean views as well as being the most populated metropolitan area in Brazil. A few additional reminders to pilots flying this week. There are a few free and paid additional sceneries for MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 11 and 12. We have posted several on this page for MSFS 2020 including the Iguacu Falls - don't miss out on the wonderful scenery the landscape is handing you. Please also check all weather and charts prior to departure; both SBFI and SBRJ offer specific challenges, so ensure you are familiar with the charts for both. does require additional third-party scenery. In addition, please make sure everyone visits the pilot resources section of this website to download both liveries and VMR/CSL files to ensure a greater level of immersion for all pilots flying. As always, we will be flying on the VATSIM network and internal communication between pilots will be handled on the official Thursday Night Flight Club Public Discord Channel.
